Maastricht and Euregion: European Capital of Culture in 2018?

In 2018, the Netherlands will provide the European Capital of Culture (together with Malta). Maastricht is a candidate and is competes with The Hague, Eindhoven, Utrecht and Leeuwarden. Maastricht's candidacy is supported by strong regional cities such as Aachen, Liège, and Hasselt. 

Because of this Euregional co-operation, PechaKucha Maastricht organizes events in Aachen, Hasselt and Liège as well.
